Dude! card for MSSCC # 16

I'm  feeling crafty today!

This card is for the color challenge at Market Street Stamps.  I love their stamps - they are terrific!

The colors in this challenge look great together.  I used some of the Close to My Heart retiring colors:  Pansy Purple, Dutch Blue, Grey Wool, Grey Flannel, and Sunset (not retiring).

The stamp is by Taylored Expressions - I have a boy birthday party to send a card for, so I used it. He's called "Justin."

Here's my take on the color challenge:

Enjoy!  Happy Stamping!

I'm a Hula Girl at Heart

"In world that needs more dancing, she's a hula girl at heart..."  Jimmy Buffett (of course!)

This card was SO FUN to make for CutCarstock.com's blog!  I am also entering this card into the Paper Craft Connection's gallery for shaped cards, and MoxieFab World's Hello card challenge. :)

I made the lei by using my Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge by CTMH to cut 1/2" flowers.  Then, using a needle and clear thread, I threaded each one (about sixty!) onto the string.  I punched a hole at the top of the card with my needle, and threaded one end into each hole.  I tied the strings in a knot inside the fold of the card, and since it's clear, you can't tell! :)

For complete how-to instructions, please visit my blog post at CutCardstock.com's blog!

Happy Hula-ing!

Holy Carp! Lucky Me!

I can't believe it - I was randomly drawn on a blog to win a great stamp set called Holy Carp by a Skipping Stones Design Team designer in their last blog hop!  I love punny sayings, and funny cards, so this is right up my alley.  The sketch is the Skipping Stones Design Sketch #108.

I decided to create a card for the occasion, and Frosted Designs  Friday challenge is to create something using stamping.  Easy trapeezey! I love stamping, and coloring, and fussy cutting!  So... anyway, here's my first card with my NEW stamp set. :)

I used real hemp for the fishing line, and one of my favorite Fiskars border punches to simulate stitiching on the lower piece of cardstock.

Happy Stamping!

Frosted Designs Challenge #22

I love card sketches!  To me, the challenge of making the design my own really challenges me and inspires me!   Here is my take on the Frosted Designs Card Sketch Challenge #22 .

I used the This & That paper pack by Echo Park, along with some brown pearls by Close to My Heart.  The image is a new one I recently picked up on sale by Unity.  I don't know why the mustaches crack me up, but they do! :)

Love it!  Makes me smile.

Anyway, I've had a lot of fun time down in my craft room, so it's been a productive week!  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Stamping!

Skipping Stones Design Challenge #136 & Moxie Fab Thank You card

This week, Skipping Stones Design's blog challenge features an inspiration photo instead of a sketch.  I love this photo, and what their design team did with it.  I also love these colors together.  So pretty! It also fits nicely with the Moxie Fab World Thank You card challenge.

Here's my take on the challenge.

I used grey wool and buttercup cardstock by CTMH.  I also used some seam binding ribbon I colored with a copic marker to match.  I used tons of tiny pearls in the center of the flowers, and topped the ribbon with a pearl-topped pin.   Lovely!

Happy Stamping!

Great Impressions July Monthly Challenge & The Ribbon Carousel Challenge #61

The other day, I was strolling through blogs on the internet, when I ran across some super cute cards using Great Impressions images.  When I went to their website, I was immediately transported back to a time when our local stamp shop was still in business, my normal Thursday night with the girls...  I LOVED Great Impressions stamps then... the artwork was always great, the stamps ink wonderfully, and the images are SO CUTE!

Lo and behold , they were having a Great Impressions coloring challenge (hooray!) this month.  Leave it to me to sneak in under the wire, but here I am on deadline day.  I pulled out an old Great Impressions stamp I had, and colored to my heart's content.  I am also linking this to the Ribbon Carousel's challenge #61 Buttons and Bows - Oh my!   I pulled out my favorite gingham ribbon, added a bow and button.  Ta Da!

The sentiment is by Watlzingmouse stamps.
